Water Reflections:
Building a "Putah Tool Kit" for Action

As usual, the peacock is there to greet the bus full of Tremont Elementary 5th graders to Lake Solano Park. The students disembark and get into groups, ready to investigate the watershed and learn about natural and human-induced changes to the riparian habitat.

They shout with excitement as they find and collect debris washed up on the shore, treasures that show how water carries things along, even from places far away. Students start to recognize how they are active participants in this environment, and will start to build a "toolkit" that will enable them to make a difference in the future.
